Setting up Taplio for your clients or team members

Detailed tutorial on how to set up and use Taplio for your clients (agencies, ghostwriters) or team members.

Are you looking to provide your clients or team members with a Taplio account so you can handle all their content?

That’s great news! Please find the detailed instructions on how to do it right below.

Taplio vs. other solutions

What makes Taplio different from other solutions is the advanced features we provide that make our solution perfectly adapted to the personal branding needs of our users.

That includes features such as:

  • Scheduling carousel posts or posts that contain @mentions
  • Replying to comments on your posts straight on Taplio
  • Engaging with relevant people on LinkedIn to expand your visibility

As an agency, ghostwriter or collaborator of a Taplio user, you may also do these things for them, helping you provide a more complete service to your clients while being efficient.

Adding new members to your Organization

The first step will be adding team members to your Organization. We have a dedicated help center resource detailing every step, but here’s a summary:

  1. Head over to Settings > Team

  1. Add a client or team member to your Organization

  1. The person will receive an invitation to join your Organization which they must accept.

When accepting an invitation, your client or team member will be added to your billing. The first charge will be immediate and prorata, and the next charges will occur on the day your billing cycle renews.

  1. Make sure you assign the correct role to the newly added accounts

Roles: Members → are part of the organization and can only consult their own account Content Writer → can access any account of your Organization if they agreed to share their account with the rest of the Organization Admin → can access any account of your Organization if they agreed to share their account with the rest of the Organization + handle billing, add members, etc.

Configure Taplio for each client or member

Finish the sign up process

Upon accepting the invitation to join your organization, new members will have to complete the regular sign up process to Taplio (with the exception that they don’t need to select a plan or add their card details).

Detailed instructions If you don’t have access to the person’s LinkedIn account credentials (login & password) In this case, you must use the member’s actual email (pro or personal) so that they are the ones to complete the entire sign up process, which includes connecting their LinkedIn account. If you have access to the person’s LinkedIn account credentials (login & password) and don’t want them involved with your use of Taplio In this case, you may create a new email for each member (or use an existing one which is not yet tied to a Taplio account) to send the invitation to, and then perform the sign up process without involving your client or collaborator.

Install the Taplio X Chrome extension

Taplio X is our free companion extension for Taplio. It allows Taplio to perform certain actions that other solutions cannot, such as:

  • Retrieving LinkedIn statistics for every post
  • Posting posts that contain carousels or @mentions
  • Send DMs through Taplio
  • Posting with a company page

If you do not need any of these features, you do not need to install Taplio X.

Detailed instructions If you don’t have access to the person’s LinkedIn account credentials (login & password) In this case, you will need to ask the client or member to install Taplio X on their Chrome browser, while making sure they are also signed into Taplio.com with the same browser session. If you have access to the person’s LinkedIn account credentials (login & password) and don’t want them involved with your use of Taplio In this case, you may install Taplio X on your own Chrome browser. However, we strongly recommend you create a Chrome profile for each client or member account. Failing to do so will probably lead you to logging in and out of multiple LinkedIn accounts as you perform your tasks as a ghostwriter or social media manager. When logging off of LinkedIn.com, you effectively destroy the user cookie which is what the extension needs to perform actions. This will lead to issues with posting carousel posts, retrieving the client’s statistics, etc. After creating a new Chrome profile for your client or collaborator, simply go to LinkedIn.com using that profile and login (after installing Taplio X), and sign into the corresponding Taplio account.

Access other accounts in your Organizations

Now that your setup is finished, you may access your client’s or collaborator’s Taplio account and perform all the actions you want (as long as you have an admin or content writer role).

Start by heading over to the sidebar menu and clicking on your profile.

Then select any account in the list to access it.
